Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, English and History Mentoring

Take advantage of the opportunity to participate in the 2nd annual Lehigh Mentor program and get connected with a Lehigh Alum Mentor.  This is a great way to learn from an established professional that shares your major.  Mentors can help you prepare for your career, provide advice on building skills and experience, and help you learn more about a career field.  You can search the mentor database by company, location, job title, academic major and key word.

The deadline to participate in the mentor program is Tuesday, Feb. 28th.

Before you join, review the Mentee expectations and steps to select a mentor.  Once you have joined the program, you are expected to remain active and communicate with your mentor through July 2017.  We will also send you a mandatory survey at the end of the semester so you can reflect on your experience and help us continue to improve and grow the mentor program.

What is expected of the Mentee?

  • Communication with your mentor at least once per month

  • Spend at least 2 hours per month building the mentoring relationship

  • Respond to all communication from your mentor

  • Set specific goals for the mentoring relationship with your mentor

  • Agree and commit to expectations and goals set with your mentor

  • Be appropriate in your requests of your mentor, in particular do NOT ask for a job or internship

  • Approach the mentoring relationship with an open mind, professionalism and respect

  • Be receptive to suggestions and feedback

  • Communicate problems with the mentoring relationship to The Center for Career & Professional Development staff

  • Complete end of the semester survey on mentor program experiences
