Employer Offer Guidelines
Marijuana/Cannabis Industries Position Statement
The Center for Career and Professional Development at Lehigh University will not partner with companies or approve internships or job postings related to the study, cultivation, use, or distribution of recreational or cannabis or medical marijuana. As the use of cannabis and marijuana is illegal at the federal level, and Lehigh receives federal funds, we must comply with federal law. Additionally, the possession and use of marijuana violates the Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act of 1989 and the University’s Drugs and Alcohol Policy.
Hemp Exception
For companies licensed to research, produce, and market hemp, internship or work experience solely within that specific hemp-based industry will be considered for review. The company must provide Lehigh’s Career Center with formal evidence of state licensure and written assurance that they are compliant with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations in order to be considered.
